These are the voices that change the room.

Their stories give other men permission to stop performing and start telling the truth about what it takes to sustain it.

This is not a conference. This is not a workshop.

This is the kind of day men talk about for years.

Australia's most influential men. One immersive half-day on what it actually takes to perform under pressure and keep performing. A private, confidential room built for the conversations that matter, the tools that stick and the standards that hold.

I’m In. Let’s Go

What Our Past Participants Say

“You’re undertaking a great movement. I wondered at first why 2 women would champion men’s mental health - I now feel more appreciated and understood by women and I think that’s great for humanity"  – Ethan

“I can’t thank Layne and Tess enough for creating such a wonderful and transformative experience. Their openness and willingness to share their personal journeys touched my heart. I learned valuable lessons and gained practical strategies that I can implement right away.”  – Michael

Why this day exists

High performance will not be sustained through more pressure, more hours or more willpower.

It is sustained when leaders build the human capacity required to carry the load – the energy, the trust, the ownership, the recovery and the standards that hold under pressure.

This is a half-day immersive experience designed to help men build the state, clarity and discipline required to perform at the top and stay there. It blends elite performance principles, positive psychology and practical behavioural tools. Not theory. Not motivation. The work.

This is not about doing more.

It is about doing what matters with energy, clarity and consistency. Learn what becomes possible when leaders stop running on empty.

Why this hits differently

Private and confidential This room is built for honest conversations between men, not posturing. What's said in the room stays in the room.

Led by people who have lived it Layne and Tess don't teach theory from a distance. The Awake methodology is built on twenty years of elite performance, twenty years of corporate leadership, the science of positive psychology and the lessons that only show up when life applies real pressure.

Structured for sustained performance The day is built around the behaviours that determine performance – state awareness, energy, trust, ownership, recovery and the standards that hold when pressure is constant.

Practical, not preachy You'll leave with tools that change behaviour, not slides that gather dust. Frameworks, recovery practices and the 4 D's – the behavioural system behind sustained high performance.

The right room A curated room of leaders, founders, fathers and decision-makers – men who carry real responsibility and are ready to build the capacity to carry it well.

Who is this for?

For men done with generic leadership and ready to build the human capacity required to sustain performance.

For the leader who builds high performance in others but hasn't checked the state he's leading from.

For the man who looks fine on paper but knows his energy, focus or edge isn't what it was.

For the executive who wants to be stronger, not harder. Sharper, not stretched.

It is also for organisations and hosts who want to give their team or clients something far more valuable than a lunch, golf day or harbour cruise – a day that builds the energy, clarity and ownership their best people need to keep performing.

Meet Your Mentors

Layne Beachley AO

7× world surfing champion. Six consecutive world titles. Two decades performing at the top of elite sport.

Tess Brouwer

Positive psychology coach. Former senior corporate executive. Expert in the human capacity behind sustained performance.

Two very different worlds. One shared standard: performance.

Layne spent 20 years at the top of elite sport. Seven world titles. Five won in fear. Two won in love. She learned how to thrive under pressure – and what it costs when performance comes without recovery.

Tess spent 20 years in corporate, operating at a senior level inside high-pressure environments – until a severe spinal cord injury stripped back her career, identity and independence overnight.

Both rebuilt. Both arrived at the same question:

What does it take, not just to perform, but to sustain performance over time?

Today, through Awake Academy, they work with leaders and teams to build the energy, trust and ownership required to perform under pressure and keep performing.

This day is that work, condensed into one room.

One powerful day.
A lasting shift in how men lead, perform and recover.
